UFC officials today announced that the lightweight rematch between Roger Bowling (11-4) and Abel Trujillo (10-5) will go down this December at UFC on FOX 9.

UFC matchmakers were quick to rebook this bout after the first encounter at UFC Fight 27 was controversially ruled a no-contest, after referee Rob Hinds had ruled that the Blackzilian Trujillo had scored with an illegal knee to the head of his opponent (who was unable to continue) while grounded.

A video replay would later appear to vindicate Trujillo of any wrong doing as the contact to Bowling appeared to minimal at best.

UFC on FOX 9 takes place on 14th December, at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California and is headlined by the lightweight title fight between newly crowned champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis and Josh Thomson.
