Today sources have claimed that another bout has been set for the Ultimate Fighting Championship first show on Fox Sports, as welterweights Thiago Alves (19-9) and Matt Brown (17-11) will go to war.
UFC on Fox Sports 1 will mark American Top Team fighter Alves first foray into the octagon, since his 3rd submission loss to Martin Kampmann over a year ago. In stark contrast his opponent Brown is currently riding a 5 fight winning streak the last of which came against top prospect Jordan Mein at UFC on Fox on April 20th.
This was the second bout announced for this event with MMAPLUS yesterday reporting that a fight between Michael Johnson (12-8) and Joe Lauzon (22-8) had been booked for the event that takes place on Aug. 17 at TD Gardens, in Boston.
