UFC Brazilian grappling powerhouse Rousimar Palhares has revealed he is planning to make the drop down from the middleweight division and make a run in the welterweight ranks.

The Brazilian known as “Toquinho” or “little tree stump” who is currently waiting to restart his UFC career following a suspension for elevated levels of testosterone, will look to bounce back from a 2-fight slide, which has seen him lose to Alan Belcher and Hector Lombard in 2012. This bad run of form halted a 3-fight winning streak the last of which was against Mike Massenzio at UFC 142 – Aldo vs. Mendes, that took place in January 2012.

Palhares is scheduled to make his octagon return in December once his suspension has expired.
