Following the cancellation of UFC 161 bout Nogueira vs Rua, and Sonnen’s inability to replace the injured ‘Lil Nog’ due to VISA issues preventing the American from travelling to Canada, the light-heavyweight contest of Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua vs Chael P. Sonnen has been shipped to the headline spot of UFC on Fox Sports 1.
The landmark card is to be the first UFC event aired on the brand new Fox Sports 1 channel. With previous UFC on Fox cards having never failed to impress and amaze, the debut of UFC on Fox Sports 1 boasts yet another card of highlight bouts and Fight of the Night contenders.
Set for the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on August 17, the action includes:
