The UFC have announced a new fighters bonus scheme that sees a restructured format to the regular post-fight purse bonuses, starting this weekend, Feb.15 at UFC Fight Night in Brazil.
The ‘Fight of the Night’ award will remain with each competitor from the night’s most entertaining bout being rewarded with bonus pay however, both ‘Submission of the Night’ and ‘Knockout of the Night’ have been scrapped to make way for a pair of individual performance bonuses.
The UFC statement read: Effective immediately, UFC will award “Fight of the Night Bonuses” to each of the fighters in the best fight of the night, as well as additional “Performance of the Night Bonuses” to the two best individual performances on the card. The bonus amounts will remain $50,000. The “Performance of Night” bonuses will reward the athletes who put on the best and most exciting individual performances.
