One of Britain’s most admired mixed-martial artists Brad Pickett has been left disappointed after Henry Briones pulled out of a fight with the Londoner for the third time in his career.

This news won’t be welcomed by the British public, with the idea of a final Pickett fight bringing life to a somewhat lacklustre card. The rumour first arose after Picket hinted that something was wrong on social media.

This marks the third time that the Mexican has cancelled a bout with “One Punch” after cancelling in February and September of 2016 when the pair were scheduled for Fight Night 84 and Fight Night 93.

It seems the fan favourite will still make an appearance at the O2 Arena however, meaning one of the main attractions of the UFC London card is still intact. Despite no formal announcement to be made regarding Pickett’s next opponent, the flyweight contender has hinted the UFC have arrangements and has insisted a fight will take place.

This fight will be the swansong for the 38-year-old which will see a modern great enter the Octagon for one last dance. With an impressive record of (25-13) and a legendary win over pound-for-pound king Demetrious Johnson, Brad Pickett has left a legacy and will leave the sport fresh in the memory of MMA fans across the world.

Pickett’s finale will feature on a Fight Night card headlined by Jimi Manuwa vs. Corey Anderson with Gunnar Nelson vs. Alan Jouban as the co-main event of the evening.
