Reigning UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Lisping (30-7) had some strong words for now No.1 contender Yoel Romero (13-1) following his win over former champion Chris Weidman (13-2) at UFC 205 last night.

The Cuban who won a silver medal in freestyle wrestling at 2000 Olympic, sent a clear message to the champion and the rest of the division when he delivered a devastating flying knee to KO Weidman in round 3 in front of his hometown fans at Madison Garden Square.

Speaking to the Plus Media produced Combat and Strength Podcast despite his impressive win the FS1 analyst made it abundantly clear how he felt about the 39-year old who trains with American Top Team when he said:

“His tested positive for steroids and his just come off a suspension. I’m out here doing it the old fashion way blood, sweat and tears as well as hours and hours in the gym since I was a kid but you’ve got all these wrestlers, these meat heads who are just juicing themselves up to the gills. These guys are swinging bloody sledgehammers because they are so juiced and their getting success because of it and its ridiculous, one day somebody is going to die. Luckily we have USADA now who are testing fighters regularly but its human nature people are always going to try and cheat whether it fighting, cycling whatever sport it is but I think doing what we do in combat sport if you decide to cheat in a sport like this then shame on you, you are a coward.”

With Romero status as the number one contender now secured a fight against Bisping looks very likely with the fight rumoured to take place early next year.
