The Ultimate Fighting Championship has this morning announced a lightweight match up that will see UK standout Ross ‘The Real Deal’ Pearson (19-12-1) meet James Krause (23-7) at UFC Fight Night: Kim vs. Nelson at the SSE Arena Belfast, Northern Ireland on Saturday, November 19.

Sunderland born Pearson who trains out of Alliance MMA in San Diego, California makes his octagon return looking to get back to winning ways after a recent run of bad form that has seen the 31-year old suffer back-to-back decision losses to former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks and most recently Jorge Masvidal at UFC 201 this past July.

The Ultimate Fighter Season 9 winner will enter the contest looking use his well documented striking and ever improving wrestling to get back to winning ways and prove he can still hang with the best the UFC has to offer in front of UK fans.

When entering the octagon, BJJ specialist Krause will look to use his unorthodox style to continue the recent change in fortunes that has seen him record 2 successive wins against Daron Cruickshank at UFC on Fox 16 and Shane Campbell at UFC Fight Night 83 by making Pearson his third victim in recent times and possibly bring and end to the Sunderland sluggers time in the UFC.

The event will be headlined by a five round welterweight bout between the No.10 ranked Dong Hyun Kim, (21-3-1) and adopted Irishman, No.12 ranked, Gunnar Nelson (15-2-1) who trains out of Straight Blast Gym in Dublin alongside “The Notorious” Conor McGregor.

MMA Plus will bring you more news on UFC Belfast as we get it.
