The fight that many UKMMA followers called for has now been confirmed, BAMMA Featherweight Champion Tom DuQuesnoy will now face Ultimate Fighter alum Brendan Loughnane on September 19 at Dublin’s 3 Arena. BAMMA 22 will be the promotion’s first show to be held in Ireland.

Loughnane (10-1) recently committed to a multi fight deal with the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) having remained impressive and undefeated since his one and only loss via unanimous decision to fellow Brit Mike Wilkinson in the UFC in 2012. Following his stint on The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes, Loughnane went 3-0 in UKMMA promotion Full Contact Contender and also transitioned down to featherweight.

Loughnane made his BAMMA debut at featherweight and decimated Frenchman Florian Rousseau with a first round TKO at BAMMA 17 in 2014. At BAMMA 19 on March 28, 2015, Loughnane ended a 6 fight win streak of Steve Polifonte, also from France, via unanimous decision.

Having also signed a fresh BAMMA deal despite rumors of a switch to the UFC, DuQuesnoy (10-1) is regarded among the top young prospects outside of the UFC, and is undefeated in his last seven bouts, four of which have been under the BAMMA banner.

Boasting two TKO’s and a submission on UK soil, DuQuesnoy most recently dispatched of Polish challenger Krzysztof Klaczek with a third round TKO at BAMMA 18 in February, but has not fought since. The victory came following a ‘no contest’ that resulted from his match with British standout Ashleigh Grimshaw, who was subject to a crippling kick to the groin at BAMMA 16 in September of 2014.
