Cage Warriors have today announced their full professional card for their Cage Warriors 83 event in Newport, Wales. The most recent announcements include the debut of Danish star Søren Bak who will face veteran Scott Clist and local favourite Jack Shore who will take on Frenchman Konmon Deh.
Cage Warriors 83 takes place on Saturday, May 6 at the Newport Centre in Newport, Wales and will feature a huge welterweight main event as Che Mills (16-9 3NC) takes on Welshman Lewis Long (14-4) which had already been confirmed.
Denmark’s Bak to make Cage Warriors debut in Newport
Bak, who holds an 8-1 professional record, is considered a top lightweight prospect and recently signed with Cage Warriors after success in the Scandinavian regional scene mainly in his home country of Denmark. However in his previous bout at Euro FC 1 last October, “The True Viking” would suffer his first defeat when he lost via first round knockout to Finland’s Aleksi Mäntykivi.
He will face a stern challenge in 38-year-old Clist (11-3) who himself looks to bounce back from a submission loss to Martin Svensson at Cage Warriors 79 back in October.
Also booked for the main card is Wales’ Shore (4-0) who will look to build on three straight victories for the promotion and his undefeated record when he takes on fellow featherweight Deh (9-3).
Shore, who was also undefeated in 12 amateur bouts, recently defeated Alexandros Gerolimatos at March’s Cage Warriors Academy: Wales show and is seen as one to watch for the future. Meanwhile, Deh, who fights out of Paris, France and is a team-mate of welterweight champion Karl Amoussou, last fought in April last year and is currently riding a six fight win streak.
Meanwhile, the card will also feature another undefeated Welsh favourite as Josh Reed (6-0) takes on Irishman Gavin Kelly (7-3) in the bantamweight division and promising Italian Giovanni Melillo (6-1) makes his Cage Warriors debut against Norwegian welterweight challenger Mohsen Bahari (9-3).
