Welterweight star Hakon Foss enjoyed a successful return to the Cage Warriors promotion with a first round submission of Martyn Harris at Cage Warriors 81 at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

The Norwegian came into the fight on a three win streak after his loss to reigning champion Karl Amoussou who recently won the vacant 170lb belt against Matt Inman with a first round stoppage.

“Ferocious” was a clear favourite in the match-up and did not fail to deliver when 3:31 into the first round, the Oslo native executed a rear-naked choke forcing the referee to stop the fight and hail the Frontline Academy man as the victor.

Speaking to Andy Friedlander after his victory, Foss expressed his love for the Irish fans before ruthlessly declaring his love for striking. “I like to strike, I like to knock guys out but sometimes you can’t find that range and you have to use other weapons as well.”

The 170lb contender hinted at a title fight coming in the near future. “I want to win one more fight before I go for that title, I just want to feel about a bit more. So one tough opponent, I can face anyone. Anyone in this division.”
