Chants of ‘Jack Shore’s on fire’ will ring throughout the Newport Centre on October 14.
Welsh featherweight prospect Jack Shore has been given his next opponent, set to take on undefeated Italian Federico Mini at Cage Warriors 87. The promotion revealed the news through a press release on Friday morning.
A welterweight title eliminator headlines the event, with career underdog Craig “Thundercat” White facing off against former title challenger Matt Inman. Shore and Mini are slated to serve as the co-main event; which will be broadcast on UFC Fight Pass and BT Sport.
Shore (5-0) trains out of Tillery Combat, the home of current UFC middleweight and fellow Welshman, Jack Marshman.
Shore’s fight against Mini will be his first since Cage Warriors 83, where the highly regarded Welsh prospect stopped Konmon Deh with a first-round armbar submission. The win for Shore snapped Deh’s six-fight win streak.
His opponent Mini, 28, has competed for top Italian promotion Venator FC and holds five wins inside the distance.
Lew Long set to join Jack Shore in Newport
Yet to be officially announced, Lewis Long has confirmed he will return to action at Cage Warriors 87. Long was set to compete against Gael Grimaud in London this month, but a shin injury saw him withdrawn on medical grounds.
Long has not fought since Cage Warriors 83, where he defeated UK veteran Che Mills in just 18-seconds following a running takedown.
His opponent for the October 14 show is still to be announced.
Im happy to say I'll be on @CageWarriors Card in Wales 14th October, after a few recent set backs im keen and hungrier than ever!
