Brandon “the Truth” Vera (12-6) and Ben Rothwell look set to lock horns this summer in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

According to MMAJunkie the bout will be contested at heavyweight and looks likely to be added to the UFC 164 fight card, which takes place on Aug. 31 at Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

Rothwell, will look to get back to winning ways after his 2nd round submission loss to Gabriel Gonzaga on the UFC on FX 7 card, on January 19.

His opponent, Vera, will be contesting his first bout at heavyweight since a TKO loss to Fabrício Werdum in 2008, in London England. Vera has had a mixed bag of fortunes in recent times which included being cut from the UFC in January 2011 after a lope-sided unanimous decision loss to Thiago Silva, only to see the fight ruled a no-contest and he be reinstated after his opponent failed a drugs test.

MMAPLUS will bring you more news on this event as we get it.
