Warrior Fight Series 1 kicked off with a bang with 10 fights on its debut show headlined by a light heavyweight tussle between Mike Neun and Lloyd Clarkson. Neun failed to make weight, so although billed as a title fight, only Clarkson was legible to win the belt. It was Neun however who took the win in a fight that had everyone on their feet. Neun exhibited great elbows in the clinch whilst Clarkson appeared to want the fight on the ground. The fight went the distance though and the judges gave the nod to ‘The Nightmare’.
In the co-main event of the evening, Jefferson George and Jamie Reynolds engaged in a thrilling grappling battle for the lightweight strap. A fight that flew under the radar was this one but it was certainly one that didn’t leave the fans disappointed. It was George who got the decision after three rounds and walks away as the first WFS lightweight champion.
