In the early hours of Saturday morning Charmaine Tweet (9-5) will get a second crack at grabbing the brass ring and claim the Invicta interim Featherweight title.

Her fight will serve as the main event for Invicta 21 which goes down at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri and will feature on UFC Fight Pass.

On the night standing across the cage from her will be red hot Australian Megan Anderson (7-2), a younger girl, with a huge amount of hype behind her and who is gaining popularity. But the woman nicknamed “Not So Sweet” is looking to derail the hype train when she steps inside the Invicta cage.

“She’s gaining a lot of hype but that because she’s appeared on three Invicta cards in a year. Her popularity doesn’t surprise me as she is a good looking girl and she’s got that sexy Ozzy accent and that funky tattoo so obviously she going to be a fan favourite.”

“She’s a good striker but so am I despite the fact she said she thinks I’m slow, but I think what Megan and a lot of people forget is that a lot of my finishes come via submission so I have more then one trick up my sleeve. As far as I know she’s not gone 5 rounds before, she’s not been drug into the deep waters I’m going to take her so I don’t know if in the amount of times she’s been training she’s prepared for that yet.”

Throughout her professional career the 39-year old who hails from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada has had to learn some valuable lessons along the road to her second title shot but when she mets her Invicta opponent this weekend she intends on being the teacher.

“I’ve been around for a long time and in that time I’ve had the chance to develop the different levels of this sport. I came out and lost to Ronda Rousey right off the bat and I learned that I need to work on my Jiu Jitsu, I came up against Julia Budd and learnt that I need to work on my wrestling and when Megan comes up against me she’s going to learn a lesson also.”

“This is mixed martial arts this is not just striking, its not just grappling so I think the more skill you have in each one of those areas the better chance you have to win and I defiantly feel like I have a lot more skill in each of those areas frankly due to the amount of time I’ve put into the sport.”

In her first attempt at winning the Featherweight title Tweet suffered a devastating 0:46 second loss to Cris Cyborg at Invicta 11 and despite her past opponent recently being caught-up in an anti-doping scandal she chooses not to dwell the potential effect those allegations could’ve had when the pair met almost 2-years ago.

“I would like to believe that she wasn’t on anything. One of her friends is a friend of one of my coaches so to keep the peace and to keep relations good there I don’t want to really say anything bad about her so I would honestly hope that she wasn’t on anything. I have a huge issue with cheating just in general so the nice clean competitor in me would like to think she wasn’t but its hard to say. The new test that came back seem a little untoward’s if you will but its hard to know what the truth is.”
