An injury to England’s Ian Robinson has forced President Garry Bell to make a change to the Contender Promotions World Grand Prix on November 8, which takes place from the Eston Sports Academy in Middlesbrough.

Robinson was forced to withdraw from his semi-final fight against Angola’s Reinaldo Santos with a major bicep injury, which will see him sidelined for the foreseeable future. Stepping in for Robinson is Irtaza Haider; who hails from Pakistan, trains out of Paul Daley’s Spirit Dojo in Nottingham, England.

Daley is a current Contender Promotions champion himself, and knows what it takes to be a champion on the national stage.

Haider will meet Santos in the first semi-final bout, and the amateur ISKA K-1 champion has stated he is ready for his big opportunity. The Spirit Dojo man stated he wants to be a world superstar and opportunities like this as the don’t come along often.

The winner will battle the victor of the other semi-final bout, as Holland’s Augin Masoud faces Lithuania’s Aleksandr Akimov.
