BELFAST, Northern Ireland – Abdul Razak Alhassan left home fans disappointed after an impressive performance against Irelands Charlie Ward at the SSE Arena this evening.

The UFC debutant, Alhassan (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) immediately went to war with his opponent going toe-to-toe before connecting his right hands to the head of the SBG Ireland trained Ward (2-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) to bring an end to the fight.

Speaking to the media in attendance shortly after his debut win 31-year old welterweight could not hide his delight at his performance and expressed his shock at making it to the big show after only 6 professional fights.

“I thought it would take me longer to get here, but God has given me a gift to knock people out so I hope it continues the way it has been going, for me the faster the finish the better so you don’t have to go through the hassle of going through all the rounds.”

Despite Ward having dual-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor in his corner Arlington, Texas based fighter was only focused on the last at hand.

“I really just tune everyone out when I fight so it was just me and him in there, so even the crowd I tune everybody out until I finish fighting. I knew he [McGregor] was going to be there but for me it wasn’t really a big deal. My training partner is Johny Hendricks so for me it wasn’t a big deal.”

Alhassan now moves to 7-0 with all seven wins coming by way of knockout and none lasting longer then 86 seconds. The defeat for Ward brings an end to a 2-fight unbeaten run.
