Conor McGregor has said that he is committed to UFC 200 but will look to desert Las Vegas for venues closer to home following the event in July.

Speaking to Andrew McGahon of Severe MMA ahead of UFC 196 on March 5th McGregor made it known that he has agreed to feature at what is likely to be the biggest UFC event ever.

But the Irishman seemed disillusioned with the fight capital of the world and is reluctant to compete on America’s west coast many more times.

He said: “Fuck Vegas, fuck vegas serious.

“Vegas this one, Vegas the next one probably because I committed to UFC 200, I did commit to that but then fucking east coast or Dublin.

“One or two more west coast, then East coast then Dublin. Then that’s it, it’s Dublin all the fucking way. That’s what I’m thinking.”

“I’ll go back to Boston and I know they’re lobbying for New York. We had a great time when we went to Boston and the east coast isn’t as far, it’s a five hour flight.”

The lightweight champion has fought in Boston twice for the UFC but has only appeared in his home country once, headlining what many deemed to be 2014’s event of the year.

The UFC hierarchy have favoured Vegas for McGregor’s recent bouts because of its affluent market, perfect facilities and convenient time zone.

While the idea of a summer stadium show in Dublin has been floated it has just as quickly been shot down because of the unpredictable Irish weather but McGregor is determined to fight in front of a home crowd in the near future.

“I’d go back to the 3Arena. I’ll go back there and fight, I don’t care if it’s 9,000 or whatever if I’ve outgrown that. I haven’t outgrown my fucking hometown. I’m still fucking here. I still show up here everyday, I still do the same fucking thing, I’m still me,” McGregor said.

“There’s some young up and comers coming up that I’d love to get them on again. I got my teammates on way back, we got some teammates on recently, Artem and that. Let’s get the next generation on.

“It’s my fucking pleasure to keep bringing my people in with me here and get these shows on.”
