For MMA fans patiently awaiting the return of UFC flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, they won’t have to wait much longer.

It has emerged this evening Johnson (25-2-1) will make his return to action next month when he takes on Wilson Reis in the headline bout of UFC on Fox 24.

In his last outing, the champion outworked Tim Elliott to earn a unanimous decision win at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale and on April 15, the 30-year old will enter the octagon looking to make his 10th defence of his 125lbs title and cement his status as the consensus pound-4-pound king of MMA.

Reis (22-6) will enter the Sprint Center riding a 3-fight win streak that has seen the 32-year old Brazilian earn and pair decision win Dustin Ortiz and Yuta Sasaki as well as submit Hector Sandoval during the run.

The fight is the second time the pair have been scheduled to meet after their UFC 201 bout last July was scrapped after Johnson was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Also added to the card Ronaldo Souza will take on Robert Whittaker in a battle of top-10 middleweights. Souza (24-4-1) will enter the bout fresh off of a 1st round submission win over Tim Boetsch at UFC 208 which earned the No . 4 ranked Brazilian his 10 wins in his last 11 fights.

Whittaker (17-4) is also in red hot form, after winning his last 5-fights with his most recent win coming against Derek Brunson at UFC Fight Night 101 last November.

UFC on Fox 24 takes places on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
