A middleweight clash between John Howard (22-10) and Lorenz Larkin (14-4) has been added to January’s UFC Fight Night 59 card, in a potential “loser leaves town” fight UFC officials have today announced.
Beantown native Howard has amassed a 2-2 record since re-signing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, earning back to back wins against Uriah Hall and Siyar Bahadurzada, before going on a 2-fight slide, losing to Ryan LaFlare and more recently Brian Ebersole at UFC 178 in September.
28-year old Larkin who is stepping into enemy territory when he faces Howard, is also looking to get back to winning ways after losing his last 3-fights to Brad Tavares, Costas Philippou and Derek Brunson. This fight could have massive implications for the loser, with either fighter potentially breathing new life into their fading UFC careers with a win.
