UFC President Dana White has this evening revealed that Jimi Manuwa (pictured above) is out of the Nov. 8 UFC Fight Night card in Brazil due to suffering a broken foot. Following the first loss of his career against top 205lb contender Alexander Gustafsson, the Londoner was set to face former UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua (22-9) in the main event contest.

It’s been confirmed that Manuwa (14-1) will be replaced by #10 ranked contender Ovince Saint Preux (16-6) who, similar to Manuwa, is also looking to bounce back from his first UFC loss having most recently been defeated by Ryan Bader at UFC Fight Night in Bangor, Maine on Aug. 16.

‘Shogun’ himself is in great need of a significant victory having gone 1-3 in his last four bouts. A two-fight slide including losses to Alexander Gustafsson and Chael Sonnen was halted with a KO victory over James Te Huna; however, Rua was most recently defeated on March 23 by way of knockout at the hands of Dan Henderson. ‘Shogun’ has retained his opportunity to claim a standout scalp with St. Preux being ranked one space above his previous opponent, Manuwa (#11).
