Australia’s Steve Kennedy is set to make his UFC debut in Berlin against Germany’s own Peter Sobotta on Saturday, June 20.
Sobotta was originally scheduled to face Sérgio Moraes at UFC Berlin before Moraes withdrew from the bout. On June 9 it was announced that “The Steamrolla” Steve Kennedy would take his place, making his UFC debut in the process.
Kennedy spoke about the sport of MMA growing in Australia, a country where it previously held restrictions on the use of the cage in certain states.
“Over on the east coast of Australia, especially in Melbourne where they are gearing up for the November show, it’s definitely getting bigger. Like I walk around in Melbourne and people are like ‘hey, Steve Kennedy’.”
