UFC veteran Vitor Belfort will enter the octagon for the last time when he faces Nate Marquardt at UFC 212 on Saturday, June 3rd.
After three consecutive losses, Belfort will be looking to go out with a bang in his native Brazil and cement his legacy against “The Great” at an event which is headlined by featherweight legend Jose Aldo who takes on Max Holloway in a 145 lb unification bout.
Marquardt has enjoyed mixed fortunes over the past few years but with wins over the likes of Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia on his resume, the American has proven to be a threat against any opponent he faces.
Despite wins over Michael Bisping, Anthony Johnson and Dan Henderson, “The Phenom” has suffered defeat in his last three fights, albeit to top contenders.
Nate however, has faced lesser opposition in the form of Sam Alvey, Tamdan McCrory and Thiago Santos in recent times, only beating McCrory in his last three bouts.
With the pair being 40 and 38 years of age respectively and having over 40 bouts a piece, this encounter could mark the end for both fighters in a bout that neither will want to lose.
