Rico Verhoeven

Rico Verhoeven will headline GLORY 28 Paris when he defends his Heavyweight championship on March 12 at the Accorhotels Arena in Paris, France.

The entire GLORY 28 and SuperFight Series card features three world championship bouts and will also see GLORY returning to a Saturday night.

Rico “The King of Kickboxing” Verhoeven (47-10, 12 KO), will once again headline a GLORY show, as he defends his GLORY Heavyweight championship against Croatia’s Mladen “The Scorpion Sting” Brestovac (49-10-1, 32 KO).

Verhoeven makes a quick turnaround after his spectacular knockout of Benjamin Adegbuyi at GLORY 26 Amsterdam in December. 32-year-old Brestovac is ranked #3 in the Heavyweight rankings but will be looking for his first GLORY win in two years after losing a TKO to Adegbuyi in Oct. 2015.

Brestovac holds a knockout victory over #2 ranked Jahfarr Wilnis from GLORY 14 Zagreb.

The GLORY 28 co-headline bout features Murthel “The Predator” Groenhart (58-19-3, 33 KO) vs. Cédric Doumbé (55-4-1, 35 KO).

After an incredibly close Welterweight title fight against champion Nieky Holzken in Amsterdam, Groenhart returns to action against France’s own Doumbé. The Frenchman fought at GLORY 22: Lille and lost to Yoann Kongolo by unanimous decision.

Also on the books for GLORY 28 Paris, GLORY’s one-night, four-man Lightweight Contender Tournament featuring No.1 ranked, Sittichai Sitsongpeenong (106-29-5, 29 KO) who looks to earn himself a title shot after a close loss to Robin van Roosmalen at GLORY 25 Milan.
