A fight bantamweight title fight between Brett “The Pikey” Johns (10-0) and Walel “The Gazelle” Watson (13-7) is set to headline Titan Fighting Championship 33.
Swansea born Johns who is the former Cage Warriors bantamweight champion announced last month via his Facebook page that he had signed a multi-fight deal with the North American promotion telling fans:-
Hi guys new fight news! I have recently signed a multi fight contract with Titan Fighting Championship out in the US! It’s a dream come true to fight in the states and it’s finally here! Johns who was undefeated as an amateur, has continued his impressive form since making his professional debut in June 2012, racking up 10 wins in a row, defeating the likes of Joe Orrey, David Haggstrom and James Brum and will look to record his 11th win of his professional career against the 4-fight UFC veteran and capture the Titan FC bantamweight title on his promotional debut.
The Chris Rees Academy trained fighter took to Facebook confirmed news of his title fight saying:-
“The news is out im fighting Walel Watson at TitanFighting championship 33 on January 23rd in Orlando Florida for the TitanFighting bantamweight title! Thanks to my coaches Chris rees and andrew burt and mybteam mates! Thanks to sucker punch and thanks to titan for the opportunity!”
The 22-year olds Welshman’s opponent Watson will be making his 21st professional mixed martial arts appearance and will enter the Titan FC cage on the back of two submission wins over William Joplin and Anthony Gutierrez. The 30-year old San Diego native will be looking to record his 3rd consecutive win under the Titan umbrella and claim the bantamweight title when his faces Johns in the new year.
