While UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes was preparing to step onto the scales, a loud commotion was heard as a fight between Dominick Cruz’s teammate Stephens and Garbrandt broke out in the neighbouring corridor with UFC officials quickly dashing to split it up.
The build up to this Friday’s co-main event has been heated along the road and has been getting closer boiling point all week with Cruz’s trash talk to Garbrandt becoming increasingly personal. Yesterday, “No Love” would storm out of a joint press conference with the Bantamweight champ and refused to return after Cruz brought up the challenger’s girlfriend.
After he was calmed down and brought back, the Team Alpha Male product said he would “smack Jeremy” to which Stephens called for him to bring it on in the closing moments of Episode 4 of UFC 207: Embedded.
